The History of Schultz & Larsen

Schultz & Larsen is a Danish company that was founded in the mid-20th century by two brothers, Viggo, and Børge Schultz, and their friend, Jørgen Larsen. The company began as a small workshop producing hunting rifles and quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality firearms. In the 1950s, Schultz & Larsen began to expand its product line to include target rifles and other competitive shooting firearms.

Throughout the following decades, Schultz & Larsen continued to innovate and improve its products, and by the 1970s, the company had become one of the leading manufacturers of competitive shooting rifles in Europe. The company's rifles were used by many Olympic and international-level shooters and several world records have been set with rifles from Schultz & Larsen.

In recent years, Schultz & Larsen has shifted its focus towards producing high-end hunting rifles, while still maintaining its reputation for quality and precision. The company continues to operate in Denmark, where all of its rifles are still handmade by skilled craftsmen.

Schultz & Larsen Classic DL Rifle Review

The Schultz & Larsen Classic DL bolt-action rifle is a versatile and reliable firearm. The rifle features a switch barrel system that allows for the use of other calibers within the available group, giving shooters the flexibility to tailor their rifle to their specific hunting or sport shooting needs. The Classic DL is a durable rifle that can handle all kinds of weather conditions, making it an ideal choice for hunters and sport shooters who demand a rifle that can perform in any situation.

The Classic DL features a solid bolt handle with a sixty-degree opening angle, providing a smooth and reliable reloading. The bolt of the rifle is safely designed with three locking lugs, ensuring a secure and consistent lockup during firing. The three-position safety of the Classic DL allows for safe operation of the rifle, with the center position allowing for easy unloading of the rifle with the safety on. The unique mounting surface is designed for the Schultz & Larsen Slide & Lock scope mounts, but the possibility of mounting a Picatinny rail provide a variety of other options. There are two holes in the front and the back of the receiver that are 98 mm apart. The distance between them measures 22 mm on both sides. The stock of the Classic DL features a straight comb without a cheek piece, providing a comfortable shooting experience for shooters of all sizes.

The rifle also comes with two pre-fitted sling swivel studs and weighs in at 3.4 kg (7.5 lbs). The barrel length of the Classic DL varies depending on the caliber, ranging from 560 mm to 650 mm (22 inches to 25.6 inches), providing shooters with a range of options to suit their specific needs.

For one-piece mounts to fit on a rifle, the mounting surfaces of these rifles must match in all dimensions. There are currently no such interchangeable rifles.

Rifles that have two-piece mounts interchangeable with Schultz & Larsen Classic DL

The Slide & Lock rings by Schultz & Larsen fit on all of their rifles with the unique mounting surface, with an exception of the Legacy rifle due to to height difference of the clamps.
