Vortex Crossfire II Rifle Scopes

Vortex Crossfire II rifle scopes description

Vortex Crossfire II are the entry level of hunting rifle scopes, which come for an affordable price and nice build quality. This is already the second generation of Crossfire rifle scopes, where they made some improvement like the new resettable MOA turrets on all models from this series. Except for the 1x24 Muzzleloader rifle scope, all other in this series are variable magnification rifle scopes with 3 or 4 times zoom factor.

All lenses in those rifle scopes are full-multi coated to improve the light transmission, contrast, and resolution of the image. The turrets on all models are capped for more protection, and the whole main tube is made from a single piece aluminum, which is hard coat anodized. In this series are 1-inch models and 30-millimeter models.

The reticle is placed in the second focal plane, so it has the same dimensions at all magnifications and is non-illuminated. The smaller magnification rifle scopes have fixed parallax on 100 yards (91 meters), where the big magnification models have an AO (Adjustable Objective) to focus on targets on different distances. All rifle scopes have a fast focus eyepiece for easy focusing of the reticle. The whole housing is filled with nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging on cold days. The warranty on these rifle scopes is 10 years.

Wide-angle riflescopes are built to offer the widest possible field of view for rapid target acquisition. Such scopes are used for close range shooting on driven hunts, while stalking, on dynamic shooting competitions or in close quarter tactical situations. Many of the wide-angle riflescopes also offer the option to use both eyes open when aiming and in this way have an unlimited field of view. Illuminated reticle gives further advantage to the shooter in fast target acquisition; however, such illumination has to be in bright daytime. Common features of wide-angle scopes are:

  • Magnification of 1.0x (or 1.1x as less ideal)
  • Field of view greater than 35m/100m
  • Illuminated reticle with daytime intensity
  • 30 mm tube diameter (hunting models can be mounted with rails)
  • 4, 5, 6, 8 or 10 zoom factor
  • Capped or tactical turrets
  • • Parallax fixed at 100m
